What are the best gifts for a frugal man that save time or money?

Every year, I struggle to come up with gifts for my husband.

It’s particularly difficult because my husband is a frugal person. Frugal people tend to value practical things and experiences.

I look through gift guides. I browse Amazon’s best-seller lists.

It’s difficult to find a unique gift that my husband doesn’t have.  One that he both wants and needs.

One that appeals to his frugality – a gift that saves him time or money! Something that’s good quality and has longevity. That he’ll get a lot of use out of.

Especially a gift that doesn’t break the bank.

Here are the best gifts I’ve come across over the years.

It could be for a husband, boyfriend, father, brother, son, uncle.

My husband helped me with this list so it’s man-approved.

1. Beard King

Have you seen the episode on Shark Tank featuring the Beard King?

The Beard King is a bib for men that catches beard, mustache, sideburn and goatee hair clippings for easy disposal. It’s a time saver because there’s no more mess and clogged drains. It comes with a travel bag.

To use it, you attach the neck straps and secure the suction cups to the mirror.

If you need to stop mid-way through grooming, you can attach the neck straps to the hooks on the suction cups

2. Mini Espresso Maker

If your man is an espresso drinker, check out the Wacaco Minipresso. It’s small, light and portable. You can grind your own beans, giving you control over the quality of the espresso shot.

It’s hand-operated so it doesn’t require electricity. You can take it to the office or camping!

It’s easy to clean. You save money by not buying shots at your local coffee shop.

3. Reusable K-Cups

If you know a Keurig fan, reusable and refillable K-cups are a great money-saver and eco friendly.

They’re universally compatible with many Keurig models. BPA free with a stainless steel mesh, they have a leak free design.

You can use it for both coffee and tea! My husband is a coffee fan and I’m a tea fan so it works well for both of us.

To use it, all you have to do is fill them with your favorite coffee grounds or tea leaves. Pop them into the slot and follow the same other steps you would with prefilled K-cups.

Cleaning just involves a quick rinse or put them in the dishwasher.

4. Amazon Prime (more than just free 2 day shipping)

Amazon Prime has 2 great benefits: free 2 day shipping and free access to movies, TV shows, music and books.

Do you feel like you’re constantly charging your phone? That your phone is always at 20%?

An extended battery phone case is a gift my husband requested last year because he was charging his phone at least once a day. This phone case has a built-in battery giving you an additional 150% battery life.

6. Clippers

My husband used to get haircuts at a local shop once every 2-3 months. The haircuts would cost $20/visit. It would be roughly $100/year.

Then he heard about the idea of getting clippers to cut his own hair.

You can use it to cut your own hair. Or someone else can use the clippers to help.

They’re so easy to use! The cut looks great! We still use these clippers today – it’s been 5 years. That’s hundreds of dollars worth of savings!

It might not be the coolest gift on the list, but it certainly ranks high for money savings!

7. Beer Making Starter Kit

A beer making starter kit is a fun gift for the beer enthusiast who’s handy.

This Northern Brewer 1 Gallon Craft Beer Making Starter Kit is great for beginners. It has everything you need to brew craft beer at home. The only thing you need to additionally purchase are beer bottles.
